You know, I am so frustrated right now with my 10-year old child. We have received another note from his teacher regarding his behavior...What is going to happen with him in the coming years? Have I just failed as a mother in all aspects with him? What do I do that I haven't done already to fix his behavior?
Of course, it isn't helping that his teacher is inconsistent...But, I can only fix that which is my problem. He tried out for the school's mini-version of HSM and made it as a basketball player. He is now on probation and cannot do any extra activities until he proves that he can do his work and change his behavior for the better...No matter how I speak to him, I feel that nothing really sinks in...Maybe the probation will help? What am I supposed to learn from this besides restraint!?!?!?

You know what to do. Keep doing it. He may just need to get to middle school and possibly bottom out before he comes back up. It's hard, I know. I don't have the personal experience as a parent, but I have seen it as a teacher. As hard as it is, they do grow from it. Lots of prayer. And pfft on his teacher. :-x
