Teaching and Motherhood

So, as the years go by, I realize that teaching teenagers and raising little boys are essentially the same activity...

I was talking to my friend the other day. She teaches elementary school. She mentioned that she didn't see how I could teach a room full of teenagers all day. I said the same thing right back to her except for the teenager part. Me and 20 little people is a scary concept! :-)

Of course, I call them all my little people anyway...even though they are teenagers!

One of my friends here at work told me that a student mentioned to her that I had changed her life and that I am SO patient with her. I thought this was humorous because I was particularly annoyed that day...

I do think that motherhood has helped me be a better teacher and vice versa. Now, by no means am I bragging here, but I do notice a correlation...

Just a few thoughts today....

  1. Suz....I think the rest of the family will agree that they will send your neices and nephews to you when they are teenagers..Eric will arrive soon.

You are a fabulous teacher..your students are very lucky to have you as their teacher...as well as Allen,Seth and Kaden to have you as their mother...

  3. I would love to sit in on your class! Should we trade one day? Oh, never mind. You could do music, but I could never do calculus!
